Billing Specialist

Job Summary 

J.W. Didado is looking for a dedicated Billing Specialist to join our growing company. The role of a billing specialist is to produce and maintain invoices for multiple customers. The Candidate should eventually demonstrate the ability to understand and assist with the resolution of complex requests.Tasks involve a degree of forward planning and anticipation of needs/issues.

Estimator - Commercial/Industrial

Job Summary 

 We are looking to hire an experienced electrical estimator to determine the approximate costs of various electrical installations for industrial and commercial projects. The electrical estimator’s responsibilities include determining how long each contracting job will last, researching market prices for project materials and equipment, and communicating with clients to determine the scope of each project. You should also be able to identify ways to continually improve cost-estimating procedures to reduce inconsistencies between estimated and actual project costs. 

To be successful as an electrical estimator, you should be detail-oriented and have sound knowledge of electrical codes. Ultimately, an exceptional Electrical Estimator should be adept at reading building plans and demonstrate outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. 

Responsibilities 

    • Developing a full range of construction cost estimates from Conceptual Design parametric cost estimated to 100% Final Design bid estimates, Construction Phase Change Order Estimates 
    • Preparing a Basis of Estimate that outlines the scope, exceptions, allowance, format, in accordance with client requirements 
    • Develops and/or compiles discipline and multi-discipline material take-offs (MTOs) 
    • Evaluates and/or develops labor rates and subcontract costs 
    • Enters the information into a spreadsheet or database for inclusion in an estimate 
    • Analyze project documentation in order to scope, organize and deliver equipment, material, and labor cost estimates 
    • Develop project specific estimates based on project plans and schedules 
    • Prepare and maintain a Basis of Estimate (BOE) for each project 
    • Perform estimate benchmarking and compile project estimates prior to the internal and external review

We are looking to hire an experienced estimator with experience in HV/MV/Substation/Transmission Projects Utility-Scale, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), GIS and Renewable Energy and HV/MV Utility Projects. This position will collaborate closely with the preconstruction team, project managers, purchasing, engineering and superintendents.

 Responsibilities (include but not limited to) 

    • Analyze blueprints. 
    • Compiling proposal documents. 
    • Conduct material and labor take-offs for all categories listed above. 
    • Determine the amount, type, and cost of materials and equipment needed for each project. 
    • Determine the amount of labor required to complete each project. 
    • Determine the potential profitability of electrical projects to assist management in making sound bidding decisions. 
    • Provide viable solutions to increase project profitability. 
    • Regularly update cost databases to accurately reflect fluctuating material and labor costs.

      Staff Accountant

      Position Description 

      Qualified candidate must possess the following skills and experience: Bachelor degree in Accounting, 2 to 4 years relevant experience, good analytical and communication skills, have a positive attitude and enjoy a deadline driven fast paced environment. Must be proficient with Word and Excel and possess an understanding of the monthly close cycle and internal control systems. 1 to 2 years of public accounting. Experience with Foundations software a plus. Must be able to work cooperatively and independently, be detail oriented, accurate and organized. 

      Major Areas of Responsibility – Include but Not Limited To: 

        • Ensure a timely and accurate monthly close through account review / reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
        • Reporting and special projects as needed 

      Specific Responsibilities of the Job

        • Prepare general ledger entries as required by maintaining records and files to appropriate registers, journals and logs
        • Balance and reconciling of all balance sheet accounts
        • Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all balance sheet accounts through monthly closing file preparation
        • Prepare monthly bank statement reconciliations

      Service Desk Support Tech

      Position Description 

      The Service Desk Support Tech will provide knowledge and support to ensure that hardware, network, and software systems are implemented and supported effectively throughout J.W. Didado Electric. 

      Principle Duties & Responsibilities 

        • Work in a team environment across multiple buildings.
        • Responsible for staging/imaging newly purchased laptops and ensure laptops are up to date on all drivers.
        • Responsible for installation process including preparing devices and accessories for deployment.
        • Backup user data through external HDD and other means necessary.
        • Troubleshoot initial installation issues, comments and concerns. Escalate when needed.
        • Set up and install printers and other peripherals users may use.
          (Mouse and keyboards, docking stations, etc.)
        • Install specialty software which is not packaged in SCCM.
        • Completing required hardware request documentation through Jira/Trello portal for tracking purposes.
        • Ensuring decommissioned laptops are returned to proper area.

      Job Summary 

      The position of Estimator should be capable of preparing proposals for all types of projects (i.e. transmission, distribution, underground, etc.). An individual in this position shall have experience in their understanding of the means and methods required for completion of various types of construction. A successful Estimator shall be able to complete all required take-offs, Requests for Proposal package reviews, and site reviews required to prepare any proposal. This position will attend project related meetings and site visits when required, complete site visits and scope discussions with assigned Superintendent or his designee, and clearly communicate the project requirements and basis for their estimate during bid reviews. 

      Responsibilities 

        • Complete cost estimates for transmission and distribution projects 
        • Attend field walkdowns with field leadership and customer representatives 
        • Prepare advanced proposals with minor assistance (project schedules, cash flows, execution plans and supporting documentation) 
        • Prepare and deliver formal presentations to prospective customers 
        • Reach out to various subcontractors for pricing, schedules, etc. 
        • Hand off the estimate to the project manager, and be able to explain the proposed execution plan, hours, equipment, etc. in full detail 

      Qualifications 

        • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, math, science, or related field 
        • Proficiency in use of required computer software (Microsoft Suite inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project, OneDrive, along with Online Client Portals and Oracle Primavera P6) – Specifically Microsoft Excel

        We are looking for an experienced project manager to take the lead on managing several large-scale substation projects from estimate hand off to financial close out. This person will ultimately be responsible for the financial well-being of their projects, change order submittals, invoicing, as-built submittals, etc. The project manager should have experience with the local utilities in NY, their standards, and their field policies and procedures. They should have experience with project financials, profit/loss, forecasting, etc. on projects upwards of $50M.

         Responsibilities
